JOB DESCRIPTION:
Job Summary:
The Utilization Management Nurse, LPN reports to the Utilization Management
Nurse, RN to ensures that individuals receiving services receives the most
appropriate, cost-effective delivery of transportation and ancillary services.
Utilization Management Nurse, LPN is a full-time position reporting to the
Program Manager, RN.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Assess recipients, Level of Need, based on established standards of care
and policies.
2. Obtain Medical Necessity verification from health care providers.
3. Review service delivery to ensure the most cost-effective mode of
transportation services is utilized.
4. Meet with health care personnel to educate on services.
5. Conduct on-site observation of transportation providers.
6. Report outcome of on-site review to RN for determination of level of need.
7. Coordinate referrals to higher levels of transportation services.
8. Input recurrent trips into NET Management system.
9. Educate recipients on appropriate level of need for transportation
services.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Relationships:
1. Reports directly to Utilization Management Nurse, RN;
2. Works closely and in concert with the Program Manager RN, Customer Service
Center staff, clients, health care providers, Program Manager, and Network
Development staff.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. Utilization Management experience preferred;
2. Data analysis and interpretation skills preferred;
3. Excellent interpersonal skills;
4. Problem solving skills;
5. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written;
6. Moderate to advanced computer skills.
Experience:
1. Licensed Practical Nurse;
2. Previous experience working with Medicaid and or State programs preferred;
3. Experience working for a managed care or health care provider.
Education:
1. Licensed Practical Nurse certification required
Manpower Professional is also looking for a part-time Utilization Management
Nurse, LPN; a Program Manager, RN; and an Area Liason with a working knowledge
of DOT and OSHA regulations.

operating room nurse manager to run their ambulatory surgery center.
This new free-standing surgery center doubled its cases during the year 2002
and plans to increase during the year 2003.
The nurse manager will be part of this new venture.
The new center focuses on sports medicine, hand surgery, foot surgery
and general orthopedics.
Candidates must have a current California RN license and extensive
administrative and surgical experience.
This full-time position is ideal for a talented OR nurse and will provide an
