Job Requirements:
Current CA LVN license required. AA/BA degree from an accredited college.
Must have at least one years clinical, hospital or research experience as LVN.
Phlebotomy experience helpful. (Pediatric phlebotomy experience not required; will receive training).
Experience working in a pediatric clinic setting preferred. CPR certification preferred.
Must be responsible and have good organization and problem-solving skills.
Must be able to use computers to access patient scheduling and demographic information.
S/he must be able to work with other research staff as a team and must demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills required.

Description of Duties:
Participate in the planning and implementing new research protocols to be conducted at the Kaiser, Fontana,
and River clinic sites. Help to develop parent educational materials, study procedures, data collection forms,
tracking systems, Kaiser staff inservice materials, etc
Determine subject study eligibility through parental interviews, provider interviews and review of medical record
Introduce parents and/or subjects to the study protocol, answers questions, obtains informed consent and
completes the enrollment process
Maintain subject study logs and tickler system for ensuring that study participants return for follow-up appointment in
a timely manner. Communicates with parents, subjects and appointment staff to set up child appointments
Administer vaccines, obtain serum and other specimens (i.e. nasal wash, stool specimens, etc.)
Fill out all data collection forms or enter into Remote Data Entry system as specified by study sponsor.
Work with data management staff to resolve data discrepancies
Work with Kaiser and other laboratory staff to label, process and store samples.
Set up couriers to retrieve and transport specimens to lab
Conduct telephone interviews of parents or study subjects to ascertain all minor and serious adverse events occurring after immunization.
Obtain all necessary documentation on hospitalization or other serious events
Perform other duties as specified by the supervisor as needed to facilitate the successful conduct of clinical research trials
