Director of Nursing
Full Time Regular

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a member of the administrative team of CRMC and as such, participates in decision-making, policy determination, planning and operations of the hospital. The CNO has full responsibility for patient care services under the direction of the Medical Staff and Administration. The CNO plans, organizes and directs the administrative and clinical operation of the nursing and other patient care services of CRMC to ensure delivery of cost effective quality care for all patients.

Qualifications:
 
1.                  Current/Active California RN license.
2.                  Master's degree in nursing or a related field, preferred.
3.                  Baccalaureate degree in nursing or a related field with at least three years of experience in nursing administration.
4.                  Flexible, mature individual who is capable of decision-making and problem solving.
5.                  Knowledge of Administrative and Personnel Management principles.
6.                  Extensive knowledge of Title 22 requirements.
7.                  Membership and participation in professional organizations.
8.                  Ability to work effectively with physicians and ancillary departments.
9.                  Ability to supervise two DONs as well as other personnel.
10.              Maintains composure while recognizing the need for immediate response to true emergencies.
11.              Demonstrates maturity and creativity in problem solving.

Set-up, operate and monitor equipment:
Cardio scopes, oxygen therapy, suctioning equipment, intravenous apparatus,
vital sign machines, ECG, glucometer
SCDs, pulse ox, centrifuge, uroflow, may perform peritoneal dialysis, add
dialysate solution without medications, introduce and drain solution in
accordance with precise procedures and physician's orders

SUMMARY
The Clinical Coordinator performs concurrent review of provided care for

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Review medical records of patients currently institutionalized, or in home
health care programs to evaluate for necessity and appropriateness of medical
care. The review may be performed on-site or telephonically, as circumstances dictate.

Effectively communicates with physicians and representatives of hospitals,
skilled nursing facilities, home health care agencies, and health plans
regarding continuity of care, discharge planning, and case management.
Organize care and services to facilitate cost-effective patient care.
Prioritize rapidly changing situations to ensure clinical decision-making
is supported by accurate and timely information.
Use clinical experience and judgment to identify questions regarding
necessity or appropriateness of care and raise those questions to appropriate
practitioners with clinical care responsibility.
Provide health plan knowledge, provisions and community resources while
communicating with physicians to assist with their treatment development
plans.
Develop and assist with executing outpatient care plans for high risk
patients to improve quality and cost-effectiveness of their health care.
Create and maintain computerized records of all patient treatments
including
assignment of appropriate clinical codes and identify aberrant days.
Organize and facilitate Provider Group's efforts to repatriate the care of
patients who are receiving out-of-network services without prior
authorization.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
R.N. or L.VN.
4+years experience in managed care.
Case management experience required.
Background in UR and discharge planning required.
